PoshPD Kerri Brock: who you are matters

Getting youth to think critically about who they are is a challenge. It is important to acknowledge that despite being aware of their everyday needs and wants, teens are not as in tune with their own individual strengths, abilities and desires. What is often the case is that young people today are unsure exactly how they fit into the larger context of civic engagement and social responsibility. The problem that we need to address as teachers and educators is that kids continue to be out of touch with the role they play in their own lives and the assets they bring to the table. Our youths are conditioned to conform, fit in and excel. However, little value is given to further exploring their overall potential.

Come join Kerri Brock at our next Posh PD for an intriguing discussion about taking youth on an exciting ride of self-discovery! On Wednesday November 2nd, 2011 at 5pm we invite you to be part of an elegant evening of soul-searching and conversation. This is a chance to slowdown, relax with a glass of wine and learn more about how you can help youths become better citizens through play.
